Rosarito is a young municipality located in northern Baja California, Mexico. Embraced to the north and west by Tijuana, this municipality retains that border touch that characterizes the entire region. It became independent as a municipality in 1995, although its tourism infrastructure has long represented great profits, the first hotels date back to 1925 and currently contribute little more than a third of the total revenue of the municipality.
Its commerce, services and tourist activities make it a special place for vacations.
Tourism is undoubtedly the center of gravitation of the economic activities of the new Municipality, with its extensive and beautiful coastline, with its sandy and cantile beaches, climate, modern hotels, top-notch restaurants, tourist developments at the height of any city, Mexican crafts, folk festivals, civic, historical, religious commemorations, etc.
The establishment of Fox's film studios, where the movie “Titanic” was filmed and the Calafia Historical and Cultural Center have strengthened the municipal tourist attraction to the South, in the Rest Region.
